Volunteers Needed

Good Afternoon, Parents:

A Glenbard South parent who has a son with juvenile diabetes and is one of the organizers for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fundraising (JDRF) Walk reached out to me for some help. This year’s JDRF Walk is being held at St. James Farm in Warrenville on SUNDAY, OCTOBER 2nd. They are in need of volunteers during the walk from 10:00 AM-1:00 PM. The boys are being asked to help with clean up, moving equipment, etc. I know that this is the morning after homecoming, but they are in need of help. I am looking for at least 30 volunteers. Please encourage your boys to sign up. There is a sign up sheet in the locker room area. Providing a helping hand to the community is very important to me and the program.

Thank you for your help on this!!!

Concession Volunteers Needed!

Hello Coach Crissey!

I hope you’re doing well 🙂

We were again hoping we could ask for your help, and send the note below to all of the Raider football families. We could still use a bit of help in concessions at this Friday’s football game. We do know you’re busy, but would be very appreciative if you’d have a minute to help us spread the word to as many people as possible.

Thanks so much for the help! GO RAIDERS!

Football concessions volunteers needed!!!!
Our next game is right around the corner…Raider Pride Night is coming up this Friday, Sept.16th… and we could still use some volunteers to help with concessions! Please follow the link below to sign up to help at our main concession stand, satellite and grill. All families are asked to take two concession shifts over the course of the season. Come meet some new people, have some fun and cheer on our Raiders!

Practice and the heat

Good Afternoon, Parents:

Since today’s heat index is in the upper 90’s we will have multiple water breaks, dressing the players in just shoulder pads and helmets (No lowers), and have ice towels to combat the heat. Practice will be modified in such a manner that we can still accomplish our tasks of preparing them for ACC while overseeing the heat concerns.

Tomorrow’s practices will be modified at all levels, but most notably for the varsity (see below). The lower levels will follow the same schedule as today. If it is warmer tomorrow compared to today after school, the lower levels will just wear shorts, practice jerseys, and helmets. I am not changing the time of practice for the lower levels because of transportation issues.

Varsity will be practicing twice tomorrow. First, we will practice tomorrow morning from 6:00-7:10. The morning practice will be in full pads. That will be followed by practice after school from 3:00-4:15. During the afternoon, the players will be in shorts and T-shirts for conditioning and classroom sessions. I apologize in advance for any schedule inconveniences this may cause but I this is in the best interest of the players considering the weather conditions for tomorrow afternoon. I would prefer to practice in the evening, but that is not possible because the turf will be in use for a rental.

Again, I apologize for any inconvenience. Thanks for understanding.
